Affiliate marketing is popular online, a lot of people have been talking about it all over the web. If you haven't heard about it yet, then this post is for you. Affiliate marketing is a referral system. Before the internet became popular businesses had referral systems. Here’s an example; let's say that you move into an apartment and the apartment manager says “If you refer someone to our apartment, we will give you a $100 when they sign a lease.” This is a typical referral program that brick and mortar (offline) businesses would use. Another way that they would use affiliate marketing is by giving people a coupon code to promote on flyers, newspaper, radio, tv and other offline sources and anytime someone would buy with their code, then the they would get a commission. When the internet became popular businesses realized they could have a referral systems online. They attracted internet marketers by saying “you can partner with us as an affiliate to help us drive traffic and sales and then we will give you a commission for the traffic, leads and sales you send us.” This is how the affiliate programs and affiliate marketing was born. Today affiliate marketing is mostlty done online since that is where most people are active. Now it is immensely popular and many businesses in any niche have affiliate programs. Just go to the website that has products

or services that you want to promote and see if the have an affiliate program. There are also many affiliate networks that that attract many businesses that want to have an affiliate program but don’t want to do it by themselves. These affiliate networks are like the middle men between the affiliate and the sellers. These are immensely popular! A few popular ones are called warrior plus, commission junction, clickbank and jvzoo. There are others but I will leave that to your own research. When deciding which affiliate products and services you want to promote this is where you will have to do your own research, to find what you feel fits you.

A lot of Internet Marketers say that marketing is easy to learn and do. If so, then why don't more people do it? Why do so many people give up or don't even try? The answer is because the people who say that it is easy are only HALF RIGHT. The amount of skills required is basic skills that most people today already have. Here are the skills needed to learn internet marketing: Reading, typing, basic computer skills, internet skills (searching the web), email skills (opening and sending emails) knowing what social media is. These are the prerequisites for learning internet marketing. Most people that have access to computers and the internet already have these skills. So why do people quit or not try? The answer to this question is the other side of the coin, that most people don't realize, and to put it simply, it's their MINDSET!!!
